In the BasementThe Basement Club was one of the many cold and empty buildings that crowded the west section of the city.  It was in this run-down disco that Maria and I were to hear His message for the first time.       The air outside reeked of pot.  Smoke streamed out of one squat window along the staircase leading directly to the club.  I could hear drunken banter supported by the sounds of poorly tuned instruments.  I looked to Maria with my eyebrows furrowed and my mouth contorted into an unattractive wiggle.

Where the Hell is the Cereal?We are forced to improvise  like Lucifer after the fall,  because someone thought to downsize  breakfast in the dining hall.  I hope you will realize  that crap you stuck on the wall  is no valid compromise,  
and, while you may think it small,  the pre-packaged cereal  was no occasional treat.  It was our morning staple.  My stomach aches to be full.  What are we supposed to eat?  When there is nothing in my bowl. Where the Hell is the Cereal?
